Blues to sign World class striker to replace Nicolas Jackson as Chelsea hold talks to sign World class defender

William Gallas has claimed that Chelsea will sign a world class striker in the summer transfer window to replace Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson was the big signing for the Blues last season as they wanted to sign a striker that had the ability to score goals on a weekly basis, and Jackson impressed last season.

However – the forward has not been as impressive as many would have liked and there has been alot of speculation that a new striker will need to get signed in order to replace Jackson.

And speaking to Lord Ping Gallas said that Nicolas Jackson has demonstrated that he can’t be trusted to lead the line. He suspects that the club’s sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Lawrence Stewart have already decided to sign a replacement:

“I really wanted to give Nicolas Jackson the chance to prove that he had the ability to be Chelsea’s main striker and lead the line next season. This is his first year in the Premier League and he is a young player, but for him to prove that he is good enough to be the main striker at Chelsea, he needs to score a minimum of 15-20 goals. I said that at the start of the season.”

“His performances haven’t been good enough for the club to trust him with being the main striker at Chelsea next season. When you have the opportunity to play in almost every game, you have to take it. You have to score more goals.”

“If you’re the owner or the Sporting Director of Chelsea, and you see your striker miss three big chances – chances that he should have scored – in the FA Cup semi-final, then your first priority is going to be signing a world-class striker in the summer.

‘Next season, I’m sure that Chelsea will bring in one world-class striker. For me, Jackson can’t complain about losing his place in the team. He has had so many chances to stake his claim (as the club’s main striker).

‘He has had his opportunity, and he hasn’t grasped it.”

Maignon is a world class goalkeeper and a star that would be loved by CHELSEA fans – if the reports are true and the Blues are keen on the player then they should definitely get a deal done for the man.

He is a couple of steps up from the quality that Chelsea already have at the club.

CHELSEA HOLD ARAUJO TALKS –

Chelsea are one of the clubs that have reportedly held talks with Barcelona star Ronald Araujo over a summer move, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.

Araujo has been a player that has been linked with a move to the Premier League for the last few seasons and he could once again be on the transfer market if Barcelona make a decision on his future.

While the centre-back has been linked with a move away – the 25-year-old has repeatedly stressed his desire to stay at the Catalan outfit.

Bailey has reported on TBR Football that Barcelona are in talks to extend the defender’s contract as they are not keen to let him depart the club at the end of the season.

However, the journalist states that several people in Barcelona’s hierarchy believe selling the Uruguayan would be the right decision for the club to bring in some funds to help the clubs financial issues.

But Bailey does also claim that CHELSEA among those and they have already held talks with intermediaries to sign the South American.

It is understood the defender, whose contract expires in 2026, has a €1 billion (£855.6m/$1.1b) release clause

Several top European clubs including Bayern Munich and Manchester United are also keen on signing the Uruguay international.

He said earlier in the season: “My future depends on the club. Everyone knows I’m very happy here at Barca. And I’m very grateful to (manager) Xavi. We are very happy with the qualification, we played a great game at home.

‘The support of our fans was very key from the first minute.”
