Boehly and Chelsea given green light to complete another summer signing of powerful midfielder
According to latest reports, Houssem Aouar can now be officially signed by Chelsea after Lyon opted to allow him to leave.
We all know that Thomas Tuchel has already used some of the transfer budget to bolster the team with players who will improve their chances of retaining the Premier League championship next year.
There has been much talk about players who might join the club after players like Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly, and there now appears to be a real prospect that the club will be able to sign a player that they have been seeking for a significant number of transfer windows.
Aouar’s contract with Lyon expires in June 2023, but despite having joined the team when he was just 11 years old in 2009, he has shown no signs of signing a contract extension. The fact that the 23-year-old Frenchman switched agents to IMC Stellar Sports at the beginning of this year further suggests that he will be leaving Lyon.
The midfielder’s goal involvements have decreased since his 2019-20 season, which was highlighted by an outstanding Champions League performance, with 8 goals and 4 assists in 45 games.
According to L’Equipe, the French club is now willing to sell the French player.
