BREAKING: Antonio Conte officially leaves Inter as club makes decision on Lukaku move to Chelsea

According to latest reports, Former Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has officiallt resigned as Inter Milan manager after two seasons in charge, the club confirms.

“FC Internazionale Milano announces that it has reached an agreement for the consensual termination of the contract with the coach Antonio Conte,” the club’s statement reads.

“The whole Club would like to thank Antonio for the extraordinary work he has done, which culminated in winning the nineteenth Scudetto. Antonio Conte will remain forever in the history of our Club.”

Conte’s contract was due to expire next year, so Inter will pay him a €7million severance fee, as per Fabrizio Romano and other sources.

It’s been claimed that the club owners have decided to lower the wage bill by up to 20 per cent and raise £69 million in player sales by the end of the transfer window, something that does not sit down well with Conte.

Now, the club will be able to sell some players, with Romelu Lukaku mentioned as a possibility as his decision to join Inter in the first place had a lot to do with Conte’s presence.

Chelsea have been mentioned as potential suitors of the Belgian, with Thomas Tuchel rumoured to be ‘in love’ with the striker.
