BREAKING: Chelsea completed first summer signing as French international player signs an initial three-year deal
Chelsea issued an official club press release this morning, according to reports. Perisset becomes The Blues’ first summer acquisition, and she will join the team on July 1st.
Perisset comes to England after most recently playing for Bordeaux in France. The player played for the Stage Sainte-Germaine for two seasons. In the French game, Perisset has won nine domestic trophies, including four league wins with previous club Lyon. With that club, she also won the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2015/2016.
On the international scene, Perisset has been capped 34 times by France, appearing in the previous two major tournaments for Les Bleues.
After signing on at Kingsmeadow, Perisset said “It’s a fantastic honour to join Chelsea and to be the first French female player to become a blue! I am very thankful for the opportunity that has been given to me.
“The time was right for me to make this big move to London and join the English Super League and I cannot wait to meet the team and the fans later this summer at Kingsmeadow and at the famous Stamford Bridge!”
Perisset is expected to be the first of a handful of new arrivals at Chelsea this summer as manager Emma Hayes looks to bolster her squad.
