BREAKING: Chelsea finally agree personal terms with superstar with deal set to be announced within 24 hours
Raheem Sterling, a forward for Manchester City, is allegedly in personal agreement with Chelsea, and a deal is expected to close in the next day or so. The 27-year-old forward has agreed to terms with the Blues, according to The Telegraph.
The Premier League champions and the winners of the 2020-21 Champions League are confident that a deal will be reached soon, allowing Sterling to travel with Thomas Tuchel’s team on their forthcoming preseason tour of the United States, which gets underway this weekend.
The cost of the England international, who has just one year left on his contract, is anticipated to be £45 million, which is comparable to the price for which Manchester City sold Gabriel Jesus to rivals Arsenal.
Romelu Lukaku, who departed the team to rejoin Inter Milan following a catastrophic return to the two-time European champions, is expected to be filled by Sterling, who is slated to become the first signing of the new Todd Boehly era at Stamford Bridge.
After Lukaku left, Sterling is expected to make £300,000 per week, which is a little bit more than what he was making at the Etihad Stadium, making him the highest-paid player at his new club.
