BREAKING: Chelsea player set to leave club after Marina decline latest player’s contract offer

Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta contract will be due at the end of the season, but so far, there have been no positive news about a likely extension.

However, The Chelsea’s policy of only offering 12-month deals to players over 30 seems to have caught up with Azpilicueta who is demanding a three-year deal.

The 32-year-old is still an important part of the squad, and the Chelsea captain is indeed a fan’s favourite.

However, The Sun claims that Chelsea would only be willing to offer a one-year deal with the option of a further 12 months to the Chelsea skipper.

On Azpilicueta’s part, the Spain international does not feel this offer gives him the security he’s looking for at this stage of his career and he’s therefore exploring his options.

Barcelona are not only monitoring the situation, but are speaking to the player as well, and sources claim they seem confident of signing up the Chelsea captain.

Moreso, the Spanish giants are more than happy to pay Azpilicueta’s wages, as they wouldn’t be paying any money for a transfer fee. Some reports even claim that the Barcelona has reached full agreement with Azpilicueta over a transfer at the end of the season.
