BREAKING: Chelsea set to welcome former player ahead of Aston Villa clash
Chelsea is set to welcome former youth player Bertrand Traore this weekend when Chelsea play host to Aston Villa.
Traore was a youth player at the club for a year and lasted an extra two years at the club, with loan spells away at Vitesse and Ajax. Traore was eventually sold to Lyon and he lasted 3 years with them before sealing a return to the Premier League where he currently plays for Villa.
Now 26, Traore is at a good stage of his career, but injury has been a worry for him this season.
Traore has only played 18 minutes of Premier League football this season due to injury.
The former Chelsea forward had surgery on his groin after the final game of the 2020/21 campaign. However, he wasn’t able to get up to full speed before the start of the new season as he didn’t have much time in pre-season.
Bertrand Traore could return to Aston Villa’s matchday squad for the game at Stamford Bridge.
