BREAKING: Chelsea to complete striker deal in next few days

According to the Mirror, Chelsea hoping to thrash a deal with Villarreal for Nicolas Jackson in the next few days after agreeing personal terms with the forward.

The report adds: “But they could yet face competition from Tottenham, whose new boss Ange Postecoglou is also hoping to add to his side’s firepower having lost Lucas Moura and on-loan Arnaut Danjuma in the summer.

“The Blues have an agreement in principal with Jackson on a four-year contract and are happy to meet the £30million release clause with an upfront offer of around £25million and the rest in add-ons.

“And unless Harry Kane leaves Spurs this summer, Jackson knows he will have to play second fiddle to the England captain in north London, whereas at Chelsea he could well be the main man.”

Meanwhile, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea star Kai Havertz has told Arsenal he is ready to join them this summer.

The Germany international has two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and has shown no indication he is ready to committing to a new deal.

With Havertz reluctant to extend his Chelsea contract, the Blues are open to selling him this summer for the right price.

Romano said: “Understand Kai Havertz has given green light to Arsenal contract bid after positive indications. No problem on personal terms.

“Arsenal & Chelsea in contact — no chance for £75m but Chelsea will be flexible.

“Bayern, informed… but still quiet. Real Madrid 100% out of the race.”
