BREAKING: Erik ten Hag plotting ‘shock move’ for Chelsea star as first United signing after Chelsea’s FA Cup defeat

Not enough season for Tuchel side as Chelsea lost two finals this season to Liverpool on penalties.

However, following this defeat it was reported Manchester United are plotting a move for Chelsea midfielder.

According to latest reports, Erik ten Hag, the new manager of Manchester United, is said to be interested in signing Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante. The Dutchman is expected to demolish and rebuild a United team that had a disastrous season in 2021-22.

Ten Hag wants to start his transformation at Old Trafford by signing Kante, according to the Mirror. The 52-year-old believes the Frenchman’s energy, determination, and expertise would help United’s midfield, which has to be strengthened this summer.

Kante rose to fame with Leicester City, winning the Premier League title in 2015-16.

In the following summer, he joined Chelsea and won another league title as well as the Premier League Player of the Season award in his first season. A UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, FA Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup have all been won by the Frenchman.

In comparison to Aurelien Tchouameni and Declan Rice, Kante may be a ‘attainable target’ for United. Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is expected to receive a significant transfer budget from new owner Todd Boehly, whose £4.25 billion takeover was authorized by the UK government and the Premier League.

The Blues are expected to make numerous additions to their roster, which could result in Kante’s departure. The 31-year-contract old’s just has one year left on it, so the Blues might sell him this summer.

Despite interim manager Ralf Rangnick’s criticism of the club’s decision to sign players at the end of their careers, United could make a move for the midfielder.
