Frank Lampard is keen on signing Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz this summer and Chelsea billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is ready to back Lampard.
The 21 year old attacking midfielder is open to joining Chelsea but only on one condition.
According to German media outlet Bild via The Sun, Havertz will only join Chelsea if the Blues finish in the top four this season.
The 21 year wants to play Champions League football next season and will only leave Bayer Leverkusen for a club playing Champions League football next season.
Chelsea are leading to the race for the German but the attacker would be open to other options should the Blues miss out on a place in the competition.
Real Madrid and Manchester United are also interested in signing the 21 year old attacking midfielder.
