According to reports, Leicester City have told Chelsea that they will need to pay in the region of £75 million for Ben Chilwell this summer to be able to Join the Blues.
However, Frank Lampard has identified the 23-year-old as his first-choice target to strengthen at left back and Chelsea’s hierarchy are prepared to make a move in the upcoming transfer window.
According to The Times, Chelsea and Leicester are in talks but the Foxes are standing firm and want a similar fee to the £80m that Manchester United paid to sign Harry Maguire last year.
The report also claims that Leicester have told Chelsea they are aware that money is not an issue by pointing out the deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, who is set to join from RB Leipzig.
Leicester are also lining up replacements for Chilwell as they are becoming ‘increasingly resigned’ to the England international leaving this summer.
Meanwhile, Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand is on Brendan Rodgers’ list of possible replacements.
