According to latest reports, Tiemoue Bakayoko has hinted he is interested in returning to Rossoneri as Blues prepare to sell him this transfer window.

The France international has flopped spectacularly since his £40m arrival at London club. Of the three campaigns, he’s spent as a Blues footballer, he’s been cast out on loan for two of them.

Chelsea bosses are now ready to get his £100,000-a-week wages off the books, and they have dramatically reduced his asking price in order to pave the way for him to leave.

After struggling under Antonio Conte, who signed him in 2017, he was sent to Rossoneri on loan when Maurizio Sarri arrived and then loaned back to former club Monaco this campaign upon Lampard’s arrival as Blues boss.

And with his future at London club looking extremely bleak, Tiemoue hinted he would be happy to go back to Milan on a permanent basis this summer. ‘Everyone knows that Milan is in my heart and I have good memories,’ Bakayoko said.

Serie A giants are thought to be preparing a bid worth £14m, which is short of Chelsea’s £20m asking price. But the Italian club suspect they will agree on a fee, with Blues chiefs desperate to offload him.

Talks are at an early stage and it is unlikely Blues will accept Milan’s opening offer. Rossoneri want to pay €3m to sign Tiemoue on loan, with an option to buy him for €35m next summer. However, Blues want to arrange a permanent deal for him, who has two years left on a contract worth £100,000 a week and are willing to sell him for £20m.
