According to The Mirror via Daily Express, Napoli have slashed their asking price for Chelsea transfer target Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Serie A club previously wanted £80million for the 29 year old Senegal international but are now willing to accept £65 million.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with the Napoli defender, who is considered as one of the best centre-backs in the world, with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard keen on fixing Chelsea’s leaky defence this summer.

While the Blues are happy Napoli are now willing to lower their demands for Koulibaly, Chelsea now face a problem in the race for the centre-back.

Premier League rivals Manchester City have now reportedly joined the race for Koulibaly after Napoli slashed their asking price for the 29 year old centre-back.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola reportedly wants to make three statement signings this summer and is hoping to beat Chelsea to the signing of Koulibaly.
