Chelsea academy products Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori both have Nigerian descent, although they are available to play for either Nigeria or England.
Nigeria Football Federation president Amanju Pinnick had attempted to convince the Chelsea duo to pledge their futures to the Super Eagles, but they both committed their future to the Three Lions.
Pinnick has now revealed that he has no hard feelings towards the duo and he respects their decisions.
“I don’t believe that’s an issue, you have a choice, it’s not just today, at a point John Fashanu refused to play for Nigeria, I was still in secondary school if not primary school,” Pinnick told Plus TV Africa in an exclusive interview, as quoted by All Nigeria Soccer.
“We are all human beings, we are subjected to the various choices that we make, so to me it’s their choice. “I’m very close to Tammy Abraham’s father, we grew up together, I’ve known him for over 40 years.
“I know the history of Tammy but if at the end of the day he decides to play for England, we just wish him good luck, Tomori too we wish him good luck.”
