BREAKING: Tuchel confirms two key Chelsea players are out of Manchester City clash after latest fresh injury
According to Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Blues midfielder Mason Mount has been ruled out of the Premier League clash with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Christian Pulisic had been the only absent Chelsea player after injury and Covid had kept him out of the team for a while. Tuchel has now revealed that Mount won’t also feature due to a knock he received in the Carabao Cup game against Aston Villa.
“Christian Pulisic is still out,” said Tuchel at his pre-match press conference.
“Mason Mount is also out as this game comes too soon for him, after picking up a minor injury from the Aston Villa match in midweek.
“He has made a big step in his recovery from that, huge progress, but unfortunately not enough to be involved because of the game coming earlier as a 12.30pm [kick-off] on Saturday.”
Chelsea have a lunch-time kick-off against Manchester City on Saturday, and Mount has been ruled out of the game, with the game against City coming too soon for him.
