Cavani’s mother sends an ‘important message’ about Edinson Cavani to Chelsea

Chelsea were keen to sign PSG striker Edinson Cavani during the January transfer window, but a move didn’t materialise at the end, as the French club decided to hold on to the Uruguayan star.

Cavani, 33, will be a free agent at the end of the season, and will definitely attract numerous offers from all over Europe.

Cavani’s mother, Berta Gomez has revealed that there’s still massive interest in Cavani, and admitted that although her son is interested in a move to Spain, he’s as well interested in playing in any top European league.

“Fortunately today, there are many clubs interested in signing Cavani. He still does not know where he will play, he has three months left in Paris,” Gomez told Uruguayan outlet Ovacion Digital.

“We have to think carefully. At the moment, he has no intention of returning to Uruguay, he is planning to continue in Europe and would like to go to Spain.”

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is a keen admirer of Cavani, but it’s yet to be seen if the Blues boss will want to make a move for him during the summer transfer window.
