Chelsea stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga is reportedly unlikely to depart from Stamford Bridge this summer despite enduring a tough 2019-20 season in London.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper has spent time out of the starting XI in recent months, having largely struggled to make his mark since making the switch to the West London club from Athletic Bilbao back in 2018.
A recent report suggested that intermediaries had attempted to drum up interest in the Spanish keeper ahead of this summer’s transfer window, however, the exercise did not prove to be a success.
As a result, Chelsea are preparing to keep hold of the stopper for at least the 2020-21 season, according to the Daily Mail reports.
The report suggests that the London giants are not prepared to sell Spanish international forward on the cheap this summer, and there is unlikely to be much interest following to the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
Experienced Argentine stopper Willy Caballero has made four starts of Chelsea’s last five Premier League games, however, he will be out of contract at the end of June.
Chelsea have been rumoured with securing the services of Udinese 25-year-old goalkeeper Juan Musso.
