Chelsea and Arsenal to battle with 15-goal man this summer -Romano confirms
According to reports, Chelsea will provide some competition for Arsenal in their quest to sign Athletic Bilbao winger, Inaki Williams during the sunmer transfer window.
This is according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, who also says that Real Madrid, Aston Villa and Liverpool are all keen on the Spain international as well.
Romano told CaughtOffside: “Arsenal have also sent their scouts to follow Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao multiple times, and it’s the same for Chelsea as they included him in the list last summer.
“The race is completely open, and nothing is advanced with either club so far.
“He’d be great in the Premier League in my opinion – a physical and technical player; very good one.”
It’s still unclear how much Bilbao will want for Williams, but the 21-year-old is expected to command a significant fee after recently extending his contract with the La Liga club until 2027.
Williams has made 15 goal contributions in 24 matches for Bilbao this term, scoring five, and assisting 10 across all competitions.
