Chelsea and Turkish club reach agreement for transfer of player

According to Goal, Chelsea and Turkish club Trabzonspor have reached an agreement for the temporary transfer of Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker.

Baker will join Trabzonspor on a season-long loan deal with an option for the Turkish club to make the deal permanent.

The move comes at the request of Trabzonspor’s head coach Eddie Newton, who played for Chelsea and then spent almost a decade working behind the scenes at the club.

Newton got to know the 25-year-old while heading up the loan department and he briefly spent time on Frank Lampard’s coaching staff before moving to Turkey in the winter.

Baker is currently in Turkey to finalise the transfer to Trabzonspor. He will be hoping the move can kick start a career that has seen him move on loan seven times.
