Chelsea board sends massive message to Aubameyang after Thomas Tuchel sacking
On the final day of the transfer window, Chelsea acquired Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona.
Aubameyang was happy to work with Thomas Tuchel once more after their time together at Borussia Dortmund.
However, Tuchel was fired a week following Aubameyang’s signing.
A delighted Aubameyang was pleased to be joining Tuchel at Chelsea as he said: “It will be an honour and a joy again [to play with Tuchel].
“We had some good times in Dortmund together so I am really happy to play for him again.
“We will achieve some big things, I am sure of this and I will try to help the team.”
Aubameyang would surely be surprised to see Tuchel leave Chelsea immediately after his signing.
According to reports, the Chelsea owners have moved to assure Aubameyang of his importance in the squad.
The Telegraph claim that the club chiefs rang Aubameyang to give him reassurances over his future at the club.
They claim Aubameyang has “been reassured that his signing was not made purely to satisfy” the axed Tuchel by co-owners Boehly Behdad Eghbali.
