According to reports, Chelsea are considering promoting Nathan Baxter rather than signing a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Frank Lampard has reportedly performed a u-turn on his plans to sell the Spain international, according to The Telegraph.
And the Englishman will now promote Baxter, 21, to become his third-choice goalkeeper behind Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero.
Baxter spent last season on loan at Ross County, keeping three clean sheets in 14 games.
With the club spending over £160m on transfers, Lampard is aware he may not be able to find an adequate replacement for Kepa and has decided to give him another chance.
