Chelsea could be force to pay £100m for transfer of potential Raphinha alternative

Rafael Leao, an attacking winger for AC Milan, is supposedly one of the players Chelsea is interested in signing this summer.

According to the Guardian, Thomas Tuchel is interested in such unexpected players for the wide-forward position as Barcelona is reportedly closing in on the signing of Leeds United winger Raphinha.

Leao might cost the Blues up to £100 million, which may put him out of reach. Serge Gnabry of Bayern Munich is another player the west London juggernauts are examining.

However, After the disappointing performances of players like Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic, and Hakim Ziyech, Chelsea appear to need upgrades up front. Romelu Lukaku has also left Stamford Bridge after just one season to return to Inter Milan on loan.

“Gnabry can really be a top signing who would flourish under Tuchel. Another alternative could be Rafael Leao – he’s an excellent player with the capabilities to take his talent to the Premier League”

Leao seems like he could be the perfect fit, thus spending big money to bring in the Portugal international might be worthwhile for Chelsea.

Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez were both statement signings for Manchester City and Liverpool this summer, but if CFC wants to stay in the title chase the following year, they must reply.
