Chelsea could sell Six players to fund Two major Transfers in January
According to reports, Chelsea might possibly sell six of their players to fund for two-star signings. Frank Lampard’s side has been average this season considering the signings they made this summer transfer window.
Lampard did sign his shortlists as per the list and had his plans ready for the new campaign. However, injuries did stop some of his new signings to showcase their talent early in the season. However, they are now perfectly fit and producing goods as expected.
Lampard’s side is now currently in the fifth position just behind Everton, who come from a successive win over the Gunners. Lampard has comparatively done a very good job with his squad, while Arteta is yet to find a way out.
Former Chelsea midfielder made seven crucial signings for the Blues this summer transfer window. The list includes Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr, Edouard Mendy, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell. Chelsea fans were really pleased with the signings having covered all the departments.
In spite of these signings, Chelsea did struggle against some big sides on occasion, which is the reason for the fifth position. The Blues also suffered injuries, which forced Havertz to play as a winger. The English manager is however using Timo Werner at the wings rather than as a striker.
The 24-year-old centre-forward has been played wide by Lampard, which is also the reason behind him not scoring many goals. The stats will reveal the reason as well, with Werner having more assists than the number of goals he scored in the Premier League this term.
Former Leipzig Star has four goals and five assists to his name in 14 appearances for Chelsea. However, the German forward is quite versatile and has the capability to cut-in from a wide-angle. Although, Lampard is using German’s services to his potential.
Players who could be on their way out in January
Chelsea spent more than £200million to land their targets at Stamford Bridge. But, Lampard still wants to land another two-star player on to their side.
Lampard is building aside for the future and is certainly clear about selling out the deadwood in the upcoming window. There are a number of players in the squad, who are fighting for their place in the main team. The likes of Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso were about to leave in summer but later changed their mind to stay and fight for their place.
However, things are not working out for the German centre-back. Lampard is happy with Zouma and Thiago Silva as his centre-backs, which also indicates an exit for Christensen. The towering German centre-back might also be on his way out to find his new club.
According to Sky Sports Italia journalist Angelo Mangiante, Chelsea are preparing for an exodus when the window opens in just over a week’s time. Mangiante claims Chelsea are willing to get rid of Antonio Rudiger, Andres Christensen, Jorginho, Marcos Alonso, Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater, and Victor Moses to raise funds for their new signings.
Chelsea recently had a perfect 3-0 win over Declan Rice’s West Ham United. The Blues are long-time admirers of the English midfielder, for whom the Hammers are demanding £80million, which is quite a huge sum. Although, Chelsea can pull-off these deals, which is not something new to them.
