Chelsea encouraged to sign up unhappy £360,000-a-week Brazilian

Chelsea boss Pochettino have been encouraged to make a move to try and sign Roberto Firmino this January transfer window.

It is no secret that the club have been linked to some of the biggest names in world football over the past few months, as it is also no secret that Mauricio Pochettino is desperate to add a striker to that squad.

That has led to constant speculation in the media that Victor Osimhen is a player that Pochettino has asked for, and it seemed that a move could have been on the cards as the striker could not agree a new contract.

However – that is no longer the case and he has agreed a new deal until the summer of 2026, meaning that we would have to pay over £120 million to try and get a deal done for the man, a fee that they are not willing to pay just yet.

Now, amid all the speculation and rumours – former Blues star Willem Gallas has opened up and told the club that they should go for Karim Benzema, or former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino this month.

William Gallas told Gambling Zone:

‘I know Osimhen from Napoli has been linked, but how much would he cost? It would be too much.

‘Firmino and Benzema have been linked from Saudi. Those two could certainly be a good option because Benzema and Firmino wouldn’t cost that much money.

‘Jackson and Broja will have to accept it, too, as that means they didn’t do their job properly. For Jackson it’s a bit different though as just arrived at the new club and he needs time to adapt to the new club, at least a year. So for Jackson it’s completely different.

‘If you can bring either Firmino or Benzema that’d be great and their luck in front of goal could change.’
