Chelsea evening headlines as Lampard speaks on double possible signings
According to latest news, Frank Lampard has responded to suggestions that it could be a big summer in the transfer window for Chelsea.
The Blues have already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner from Ajax and RB Leipzig respectively for a combined total of £80.9million. But reports claim the west London aren’t finished there.
Links to Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz refuse to go away, while the club’s interest in Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has been confirmed by German Burgos, Diego Simeone’s outgoing assistant manager.
A double deal for Havertz and Oblak would cost Chelsea close to £200m. The German is reportedly valued at £90m, while the latter has an £103m release clause in his contract.
However, Lampard speaks on the possible duo signings.
“We’ll see, I can’t answer that one we’re not there yet,” Lampard said in his pre-match press conference.
“We have to focus on what’s in front of us. “I wouldn’t want to compare it to any other spending summer or not. “We’ll see how I feel and we feel as a club.
“If the squad needs strengthening or the balancing needs changing, if it does and we make moves great, but at the moment we don’t know.”
