Chelsea finally Identify 24-year-old Italian midfielder as N’Golo Kante’s successor
According to Pianeta Milan, Chelsea are targeting AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie as a potential successor for N’Golo Kante.
The Ivorian international is out of contract next year, and the Rossoneri are struggling to agree an extension with the player, prompting speculation about his future.
Both Tottenham and Arsenal are also thought to be keeping tabs on Kessie’s situation but Pianeta claim Chelsea have also expressed an interest in the midfielder.
While a bid is not believed to be imminent, it is said the Blues could make a move for the 24-year-old in the not-too-distant future, especially if he does leave on a free transfer next summer.
Kante turns 31 next year, and with his current deal expiring in 2023, Kessie is being eyed as part of a succession plan.
The Ivorian has been excellent for Milan over the last two seasons, with many feeling he has the potential to develop into a dominant holding midfield player. Whether that happens at Chelsea, we shall have to wait and see.
