Chelsea finally respond to James possible move to Man city, as Blues are given hope of sealing £112m deal

The report claims that City are interested in signing James this summer, and it even suggests it could happen due to Chelsea’s intentions to sign a wide right player and their pursuit of Achraf Hakimi.

Personally, I think this is very wide of the mark and if anything, it would be Cesar Azpilicueta who could see less game time if another right back arrived at the club. James is the future for Chelsea and it is clear for anyone to see how much they value him at the club.

He’s consistently been one of the clubs best performers over the last two seasons, so any doubts around his future should be dismissed right away.

TalkSport have done just that, and they claim that Chelsea have issued a ‘hands off’ warning to Manchester City and say that James is not for sale and remains an integral part of their team.

Blues are given hope of sealing £112m Haaland deal

The future of Borussia Dortmund starlet Erling Haaland is one of the most-talked about topics in football at this moment in time.

Having enjoyed a blistering 2020/21 campaign, scoring 41 goals in 41 appearances, Haaland is the subject of interest from a number of European heavyweights, including Chelsea.

The Blues are desperate to add a new striker to their ranks this summer and Haaland, despite also being linked with Tottenham Hotspur and England ace Harry Kane, is the club’s top target.

However, Chelsea are not alone in dreaming about the prospect of adding Haaland to their ranks this summer, with the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid also interested in his signature.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of all the very latest on Haaland’s future and Chelsea’s interest in his services.

Chelsea ‘agree’ personal terms with Haaland
The west London outfit have reportedly agreed personal terms with the striker. That is according to journalist Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window Podcast.

Whilst that is a major step forward in their attempts to sign the frontman this summer, a fee now needs to be agreed between both clubs which is easier said than done.

Blues make offer
And if reports that personal terms have been agreed are true, Chelsea fans will be delighted to know that they have made their move for Haaland.

According to a report from Italian-based journalist Ekrem Konur, Chelsea have lodged a bid for Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland. The report suggests that the European champions have offered £60m (€70m), as well as current blues striker Tammy Abraham in part exchange.

In other news, the 20-year-old admitted that he doesn’t want to get too comfortable in his career.

In an interview with Icon magazine, cited by The Telegraph, he said: “I have been taking a couple of steps over the past few years and I think they have been good steps for me, personally, to get out of my comfort zone and to develop even more.

“I want to challenge myself in everything that I do. It’s something I think about. It’s also for everyone to always do this. People can sometimes be too comfortable staying in their ‘zone’ so I think it’s important to get out of that.”

Haaland went on to confess his biggest dream in football, which is to win Europe’s biggest competition, something Chelsea know about all too well having only recently lifted their second Champions League against Manchester City.

“That’s my big dream,” he said. “To win the Champions League one day. Hopefully I can lift that trophy and that really would be, well, amazing.”

Lastly, according to reports, Haaland has agreed to join Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer, with the La Liga outfit hopeful of agreeing a deal worth £112million with Dortmund.

This, however, seems unlikely, considering that Dortmund value the striker closer to £150million. But if Madrid see a reason as to why they can sign Haaland for £38million less than that, Chelsea may believe they can compete at the same price, with personal reportedly having been agreed already.

With Chelsea certainly no strangers to spending massive amounts of money on big-name signings, finding £112million to lure Haaland to west London could be more than possible for the Blues.
