Chelsea given Erling Haaland as agent confirms future
The agent of Borussia Dortmund starlet Erling Haaland, Mino Raiola has dismissed reports that he has held talks with Emili Rousaud about the prospect of the striker joining Barcelona if he eventually becomes the Catalans’ president.
The 54-year-old Rousaud is in the running to land the top post at the Nou Camp, so as to solve the off-field crisis and get back to ruling in Spain again.
However, there are talks that the German Bundesliga star will be subject to a move to the La Liga giants if Emili Rousaud wins the race
Josep Maria Minguella, who is Rousaud’s aide sparked the speculations after stating that the 20-year-old Norwegian international would join Barcelona if Rousaud landed the post.
Minguella said: “We know all the conditions and if we win, the following day I will call Mino Raiola and we will accept those conditions. I have already advised him of that.
“We have a world-class sports project that is not showing just now, but Emili Rousaud has a plan that will turn this unfortunate situation (at Barcelona) around.”
Erling Haaland has been attracting interests from top clubs across Europe, including Chelsea and his 17 times in 14 games for Dortmund this season has made him one of the most wanted players in the World. The Blues are believed to be more interested in the signature of Erling Haaland and should a deal fail to happen for Barcelona, it would be in their advantage to snap up his signature.
He currently has a release clause of £65 million in his contract but that does not come into effect until 2022. This means his actual value in the current market will be much higher as it would be based on negotiation and his worth.
Howbeit, Erling Haaland’s agent, Raiola has confirmed that he has had no contact with Rousaud about the prospect of any deal with Barcelona, describing such reports as “Fake news”
In an interview, he said “Fake news. I’ve never talked to any presidential candidate of Barcelona regarding Haaland and I won’t do. If there will be a new president elected in January, he can call me.”
Nevertheless, the report remains a boost to the West London outfit as they are now confirmed to be in the race with the chances of landing the Bundesliga striker.
