Chelsea given green light to sign €25m-rated promising centre-back

PL rivals Chelsea, Man United and Tottenham have all expressed interest in signing Ben White from Brighton. Ben impressed during his loan spell at Leeds United last campaign, helping Marcelo Bielsa’s side win the Championship and clinch their long-awaited come back to the PL.

White came back to Brighton in the summer and has started all ten of the Seagulls’ league matches this campaign, continuing to impress despite the team’s slow start to the season. His displays for Leeds and Brighton have not gone unnoticed, with Blues, Red Devils and Spurs are among the teams monitoring his situation.

Man United have an abundance of defenders at the club but could still strengthen the Norwegian’s defensive options when the transfer window opens in winter. Red Devils could face contest from London rivals Blues and Spurs, however, who will both look to strengthen their respective squads after strong starts to the 2020-21 season.

The Reds will likely look to sign a new defender in winter following injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez but are currently not considering a deal for White. As well as starring for Leeds, the 23-year-old defender also enjoyed loan spells at Peterborough United and Newport County before cementing his place in the Brighton first team.

Red Devils, Blues and Spurs are all in UCL action this week, while Ben’s Brighton face rivals Southampton. Blues, meanwhile, could also surely benefit from bringing in an upgrade on the likes of Zouma and Christensen, while in-form summer signing Thiago Silva is 36 and surely doesn’t have that much longer at the highest level.
