Chelsea have submitted a very good offer to try and secure a deal for David Alaba
Since making his first-team debut under Louis van Gaal in 2010, Alaba has gone on to make almost 400 appearances for the club in all competitions, and in that time, he has won nine Bundesliga titles, five DFB-Pokals and the Champions League.
However, there is big speculation in the media that he is not happy with the current contract offer that has been placed on the table, and is now considering his options this transfer window.
Bayern had hoped that their latest contract offer would tempt Alaba into signing a new deal and staying at the club, but that has not happened and the speculation about where he could end up continues to rumble on.
Real Madrid appear to be frontrunners to sign Alaba, however, German publication Kicker says that We have made a very good offer too.
Alaba is one of the very best left-backs in the game right now so the fact that we could land him for nothing next summer is chance that Frank Lampard cannot miss out on, he needs someone like Alaba in the side.
If the reports are true and we have made an offer to bring the player to the club, i am hoping that he agrees to come to the Premier League as it would be a true test of his world class status.
