Chelsea are considering their options ahead of next season as the London club are looking to bolster their attacking ranks. Chelsea football club have been keen to bring in quality players in the summer and are now reportedly set to beging talks with Inter Milan and PSG over the signing of £80million rated Mauro Icardi
Chelsea’s boss Frank Lampard has had to depend solely on the goals of young England striker Tammy Abraham this season and as the goals have dried up for the youngster, Chelsea have failed to score with conviction in recent season.
Also, Chelsea’s inability to finish up chances have led to the team dropping a whole lot of points this season and with the other attackers like Willian and Pedro failing to score, Chelsea are looking to bring a proven goalscorer to the club.
Inter Milan loaned Mauro Icardi to PSG after the former Captain had a fallout with the club and the Argentine has performed exceptionally well in Paris. Icardi scored 20-goals for the French Champions this season but uncertainties remain on the future of the striker. Recent reports have stated that PSG are unlikely to take the option to sign the 27-year old permanently.
The Blues are ready to pounce on the opportunity to sign on of the best goalscorer in Europe and Inter Milan could demand a fee in the region of £76Million.
However, Inter Milan are interested in signing Chelsea’s Left back Emerson Palmieri and this could mean they would likely reduce their asking price for Icardi.
Icardi is a box predator and also hugely experienced but still just 27-years old and has his prime years ahead of him. A permanent move to Chelsea will make sense for both him and the London club.
