“Chelsea is not for you, go somewhere else” – Agbonlahor tells player why he should leave Chelsea

According to latest report, former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged Ross Barkley to leave Chelsea immediately.

However, according to Agbonlahor, Barkley needs to go where he would play regular football after falling down the pecking order at Chelsea.

The 28 year old midfielder has made 12 appearances for the Blues across all competitions this season, including 5 in the Premier League.

Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: “He should be gone now. Go somewhere in the Premier League, and play football. He’s not going to get into that Chelsea side… He needs to go somewhere now and play some football. What better than going to your old club that you love?,”

Barkley left Everton for Chelsea in 2018 but has struggled to get his career going at Stamford Bridge.

It wouldn’t be the biggest shock to supporters if Barkley finalises a deal to leave in the next week before the transfer window shuts.

Newcastle United and Everton have both been linked with the Chelsea midfielder.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel gave an update on Barkley’s Chelsea future recently.

“We haven’t discussed it yet. It depends on what Ross wants and what possibilities they are, if they are any. Let’s see,” Tuchel said when asked whether Barkley could be set for the exit door this January.

“There’s always a chance to make it into the squad, the team and onto the pitch.”
