“Chelsea is the problem not him” – Joe Cole questioned Chelsea decision to offload important Chelsea star after 2-0 loss to Brentford

“Chelsea is the problem not him” – Joe Cole questioned Chelsea decision for offloading important Chelsea star

Chelsea legend Joe Cole isn’t sure why Chelsea let Romelu Lukaku leave the club after they continued to have trouble scoring at home against Brentford.

On Saturday afternoon, the Blues lost 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, ending a streak of four games without losing.

This season, Chelsea has scored 13 goals in 10 league games. Nicolas Jackson led the line well against the Bees, but it didn’t make a difference.

Since Armando Broja is their only other choice up front, Chelsea could look into signing another striker in January, even though they have already spent more than £1 billion on players since being taken over last year.

Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Ivan Toney of Brentford are two of the few players who could be available in the middle of the season. However, Cole, a former Chelsea player, thinks that the club had a reliable choice in the summer who was let go.

In 2021, Lukaku returned to Chelsea in a £97 million deal. In August, he went back to Italy and signed on loan with Roma for the season.

The Belgian has scored eight goals in ten games for the Giallorossi, and Cole doesn’t understand some of the calls made in west London.

There are a lot of buzzwords in the club, but we still can’t score goals. Cole said to TNT Sport.

“With Romelu Lukaku, he was in the door, no matter what he did wrong.” He did well at Inter Milan and scored goals for Everton and West Brom in this country. So why couldn’t he do that at Chelsea? What did he do wrong?

He is now making goals for Roma. That means we need to ask ourselves what’s wrong with this club right now.

“I have no problem with the manager at all.” Everything he and his team can do is great, and I don’t even blame the players. All of them are very good.

“The team doesn’t have enough of everything, and there’s something seriously wrong with the club right now.”
