Chelsea makes ‘Incredible’ FA Cup history following 1-0 victory over Barnsley

Chelsea’s winning run under Thomas Tuchel continued with a narrow 1-0 victory over Barnsley on Thursday night to progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham scored the only goal of the game after held his run to ensure he was onside to finish from close range.

The Blues set a new FA Cup record following the victory over Barnsley.

Since – and including – the year 2000, Chelsea have reached the FA Cup quarter-final more times than any other side, with victory against Barnsley ensuring their 15th appearance in the last eight in that time.

Meanwhile, Abraham has been involved in nine goals in his last seven starts in the FA Cup (6 goals, 3 assists).
