Chelsea new signing has returned to Chelsea after suffering injury in international duty.
According to reports, Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy suffered an injury while on international duty with Senegal.
As we reported earlier, the 28 year old goalkeeper, who joined Chelsea from Rennes last month, picked up a thigh injury in training with the Senegalese national team after being called up for an international friendly against Morroco on Friday.
The Senegal international was to be sent back to his club upon his injury, as the Senegalese Football Federation confirmed that they will send Mendy back to Chelsea.
Chelsea have now revealed in a statement that Mendy is back at the club.
The Blues released a statement on the club’s official website, thus: “The Senegalese Football Federation has announced the withdrawal from their squad of Edouard Mendy due to injury.
“The goalkeeper sustained an injury to his right thigh during training on Wednesday and had a medical examination in a hospital in Rabat, where Senegal are due to play Morocco tonight.
“Mendy has since returned to Chelsea where he will undergo further examinations.”
