According to reports, Hakim Ziyech was Frank Lampard’s first signing, after sealing a £33.4m move to Stamford Bridge from Ajax, back in February.
Ziyech is yet to make his Chelsea debut due to injury, as he suffered an injury in the pre-season friendly game against Brighton.
The 27-year-old Moroccan international has since resumed training, and could be set to make his Blues debut this weekend.
Ziyech has been sharing his recovery process with an update on Instagram, and he recently posted a photo of himself, seriously immersed in training.
The post was accompanied with a three-word message that reads: “Step by step,” accompanied with an hourglass emoji.
Chelsea players can’t wait to have the star signing join the team, as Tammy Abraham ‘liked’ the photo and responded “My boy,” with a fire emoji.
Fellow new signing Ben Chilwell will be looking forward to a link-up, as he gave his verdict with a muscle emoji.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup game against Tottenham, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard gave an update on Ziyech and Christian Pulisic, as he said that the duo aren’t far from a return.
“Ziyech and Pulisic are not far away but they are still in a recovery phase,” Lampard said in his pre-match press conference.
