Chelsea ready to let Gilmour leave one condition despite man of the match performance against Krasnodar
Despite his man of the match performance against Krasnodar on Tuesday, Chelsea are reportedly open to letting Billy Gilmour join Scottish club Rangers on loan until the end of the season. This is according to a report on The Sun.
Gilmour left Rangers for Chelsea in 2017, and made 12 first team appearances for the Blues in 2019/20 and could be set for a sensational Ibrox return.
Gilmour made his first start of the season against Krasnodar after missing four months due to a knee injury.
It is believed Gilmour would benefit from greater exposure to first team action at Ibrox, providing him with a platform to gatecrash Steve Clarke’s Euro 2020 squad.
Asked about the possibility of Gilmour going on loan, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said: “I’m not sure about a loan.
“The way Billy trains and plays I can see him with us.
“So I have to make sure the pathway is right. “We have to think about what’s best.”
