Chelsea are “ready to offer” €45m (£41m) for Atletico Madrid winger Angel Correa at the end of the season, according to Eurocalciomercato.it.
The Italian website reports that the Blues are resigned to losing Willian on a free transfer, with the two sides unable to agree on a new contract.
As a result, the London club have been looking around for potential replacements and they have set their sights on Correa.
The Argentinian international has scored seven goals and provided eight assists in 33 appearances this season.
He generally plays from the right-hand side, and much like Willian, he can play as a conventional winger.
At 25 years of age, Correa is closing in on his peak years, and would certainly be able to implement a high pressing style that manager Frank Lampard likes to employ.
Whether a concrete bid will be made for the winger, we shall have to wait and see, but it is certainly one to keep an eye on.
