Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s troubled contract talks with Barcelona have reportedly alerted Chelsea.
Frank Lampard is a man on mission and is looking to spend some serious money at the end of the season and improve this squad enough to challenge for more than a top four spot, and the club legend has already started his transfer business.
Despite not spending any money during the January window, a few days after the winter window closes, Chelsea managed to seal a £37 million deal to bring the highly-impressive and very creative Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech to the club, a move that has been praised by many in the media.
And now, it looks like that he is keen to sign a new stopper as there is a lot of talk that he is not impressed with the performances of Kepa, who has struggled between the sticks this season and has come under intense criticism from the boss for some of his more high-profile performances.
And despite the fact that the transfer window is many months away, there has been some reports in the media which have claimed that Chelsea have made contact with the Spanish giants about a possible summer deal for Ter Stegen, who is easily regarded as one of the best stoppers in the game.
However, it is also believed that Barcelona do not want to sell the stopper and would only do business if the Blues came in with an offer that was so silly, that was so high and that was so crazy, they would be foolish not to do a transfer deal.
But according to Sport, there may be a chance to sign the stopper at the end of the season, as the German and his agent Gerd vom Bruch feel he deserves a salary in line with his importance to the team, something that Barcelona are holding out on.
