Chelsea ready to table €50m bid for Bundesliga star after Tuchel meeting
According to 24Sata, Chelsea is planning a €50 million (£42 million) bid for RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol.
According to the Croatian news outlet, the player’s father, Timohir, has already spoken with manager Thomas Tuchel about a possible move to Stamford Bridge.
Gvardiol is one of the centre-backs the Blues have been scouting in recent months, with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen due to leave at the conclusion of the season.
Presnel Kimpembe of Paris Saint-Germain, Jose Gimenez of Atletico Madrid, and Jules Kounde of Sevilla are among the other players Chelsea has been following, but according to 24Sata, Gvardiol has climbed to the top of the list.
Given his left-footedness, the Croatian international is more than likely to be the player who will take Rudiger’s place in the back three. We’ll have to wait and see if these reports are corroborated by UK journalists.
