Chelsea reportedly trying to sell £70,000-a-week forward in January market

Belgian star Michy Batshuayi is set to be sold by Premier League giants Chelsea, according to Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur of the Dutch language newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

The forward is currently on loan at La Liga outfit Valencia, but there is a suggestion the star could be recalled and sold within a matter of days once the January transfer market is open.

Having failed to make an impression in just eight starts for the Spanish club.

manager Marcelino is reportedly ready to offload the percentage of Michy’s wage bill he is currently paying.

Crystal Palace have also appeared as a likely destination for the 25-year-old striker, who joined the west London giants from French outfit Marseille back in 2016.

The Eagles are on the observation post for a striker, with Roy Hodgson unsatisfied with having to choose between Alexander Sorloth, Christian Benteke, and Connor Wickham.

Similarly, the Blues are also snooping around to discover what front-men might be available and could use funds raised from the sale of Michy to help fund a possible move for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.
