Chelsea’s young defensive midfielder Trevoh Chalobah has again been sent out on loan with the player joining French club Lorient for the coming season according to reports on The Blues’ official website.
The 21-year-old Sierra Leone-born utility man had just returned to Stamford Bridge following a loan spell with Sky Bet Championship club Huddersfield Town but the player has swiftly moved out on loan again.
He has signed a new three-year deal with Chelsea prior to leaving The Bridge.
It has been reported that Chalobah will spend the entire 2020/2021 campaign with French club Lorient. Les Merlus won promotion from Ligue 2 last season meaning that Chelsea loanee Chalobah will play his first season of football in top level competition.
The defensive midfielder has represented parent club Chelsea in the EFL Trophy with the Development Squad but he is yet to make a senior appearance for The Blues.
Chalobah spent the 2018/2019 campaign with Ipswich Town before moving to Huddersfield Town last season where the player made 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal. He helped The Terriers avoid a second consecutive relegation with the West Yorkshire club confirming their Sky Bet Championship status before the final day of the season.
