Chelsea set to agree on a deal for Villareal’s first team player valued £45 million

Chelsea have shown interest in securing the services of Villarreal defender in the upcoming transfer market.

The Spain international whose performance has attracted a host of European teams in the La Liga and Premier League, has been superb in the Villareal’s defence, playing 29 times in all competitions, during this campaign.

Chelsea have however identified the 23 years old, who could cost them in region of £45m as a potential summer transfer target, as a way to fill the void space that would be left by Marcos Alonso who has been linked with a move out of the Stamford Bridge.

However, Chelsea could face competition from clubs like Barcelona, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City, as they have all been credited with a keen interest to land the signature of the 23 years old.

Pau Torres who still has contract with the Spanish outfits till 2024, could however be used by the blues to solve their defence problems, if eventually signed in the upcoming transfer market.
