UPDATE: Chelsea set to do something against Everton on THIS NIGHT that has never been done in English football history

A win is absolutely essential on Monday night for a Chelsea side who are looking to finally make a push to qualify for European football at the end of the season.

It feels as if two years without any Europe at all would be extremely detrimental to the Blues, and also Mauricio Pochettino in his role as manager of the club.

Despite the fact that it is only the Argentine’s first season at the club, he is under pressure reportedly from the ownership as well as the fanbase who have not been shy to make their feelings known.

Chelsea must win vs Everton
They welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge in their next game, with the opponents recently hit with another points deduction.

Last time these two sides met the Toffees came out on top, with it being the last time club captain Reece James played for the side before his most recent injury.

At home though the Blues have a far better record on paper against Everton, however their recent record in the Premier League has seen them slip up to near enough anyone they play.

Chelsea could be first team ever to score and concede two in eight consecutive games
Their last seven games have actually seen them score at least twice in all of them, however they have also conceded that many goals in each of them too.

If that record was to continue on Monday, it would be the first time in English football history that a top-flight side has done it in eight consecutive games, according to BBC Sport.

History certainly suggests it is a possibility that this could take place, with the sides drawing 2-2 in one of Graham Potter’s final games at the club last season.

Defensive performances have been really poor in recent weeks under Pochettino, and the Argentine will surely at least be considering a change of system in order to try and solve their issues at the back.
