Napoli midfielder Jorginho has reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea over personal terms ahead of his proposed switch to Stamford Bridge.
Jorginho showcased his ability in the middle of the park for Napoli last season. Chelsea have been linked with a variety of Maurizio Sarri’s former players in recent weeks, but Jorginho stands out as someone would could step in and improve the starting eleven immediately.
Many assumed that his proposed move to Premier League champions Manchester City was a done deal – as did we. That does not appear to be the case, however. In recent days, reports in Italy have suggested that Chelsea have made an attempt to hijack the deal. We’re now thought to be in the driver’s seat.
According to Napolipiu, Chelsea have already thrashed out personal terms with the Italian. It’s thought that he will earn €4.5M-a-year after signing a five-year contract. We could also be set to pay as much as €70M to prise him away from Napoli.
Expensive, but worth every penny.
