Christensen tells two Chelsea players to join him at Barca after kissing Barcelona badge
Yesterday marks Andreas Christensen’s official debut as a Barcelona player.
The 26-year-old signed a free agency contract with Barcelona after leaving Chelsea.
The four-year contract that the international player from Denmark has signed with Barcelona will keep him with the team through 2026.
Christensen has stated that his move to Barcelona was a childhood ambition that has now come true. Christensen did not play for Chelsea in the final four games of the previous season.
“I’m very proud,” he said.
“When I was 8 years old I wrote my dreams for the future on a piece of paper: to be a professional footballer and play for Barca.
“I would like to thank the President, Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany for making this possible.
“Xavi hasn’t asked me for anything special. I’m here because of who I am as a player and I think I fit in very well with Barca’s style. I don’t have to change, although I do improve every day
“I’m not the biggest or the strongest, so it will be important for me to use my head well to play here at Barca, from what I’ve been told, this can help me a lot.”
Christensen then told Chelsea duo Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso to dump Stamford Bridge for the Camp Nou.
He said: “I spoke with Marcos Alonso and Azpilicueta and told them that I wanted to play for Barca.
“I want to see them again next season.”
