Christian Pulisic has revealed exactly what Frank Lampard told him before he came off the bench against Aston Villa on Sunday.
The United States international was brought in at the 55th minute of the game, with Chelsea struggling to step up after Kortney Hause had given the home side a fascinating lead ahead of the Blues.
On bringing in Christian Pulisic, he went on to heed to Frank Lampard’s instructions to make a huge impact on the game as the USA man scored just after five minutes on the match. Minutes later, Olivier Giroud netted the second goal in what proves to Chelsea’s winner.
Pulisic made his first match appearance since New Year’s Day after struggling with injury.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Christian Pulisic said; “I’m really excited I could help the team step up on today’s game.
“The head coach just told me to go in win the game for the team, nothing special.
“I just needed to go in there and display my talents. I don’t think I hit it perfectly”.
