Club CEO responds to reports Chelsea have made £77M offer to sign Bundesliga star

Oliver Mintzlaff, the CEO of RB Leipzig, has reacted to rumors that Chelsea has made Josko Gvardiola £77 million offer.

Following the departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, Chelsea is searching for center backs in the market. So far, they have been successful in bringing in Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly.

However, that may not be sufficient given how many games Chelsea FC will play throughout the season, and it has been reported that Thomas Tuchel plans to sign Gvardiol.

However, It has been reported that the Blues are in advanced talks to sign the Croatian defender after making a massive £77 million offer earlier this week in order to try and get a deal done

Meanwhile, Leipzig chief Mintzlaff has indicated that they want Gvardiol to see out his current contract – and cant see any reason why the powerful defender will not be at the club by the end of the transfer window

He told BILD when quizzed on Chelsea’s interest: “Josko is a great player who will certainly arouse a lot of interest – he still has a contract with us until 2026.

“We assume that he will not only play with us this season, but also next season.”
