Chelsea transfer target Lautaro Martinez will leave Inter Milan this summer if he pushes for a move, says former Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti.
Despite the Coronavirus putting a hold to the Premier League season and despite the fact that the transfer window is still months away, there has been alot of speculation in the media about possible arrivals to Stamford Bridge, with a striker on the agenda.
It is no secret that Frank Lampard is keen to improve this side with some big time signings, and reports in the media have suggested he will indeed get the £200 million it will take to sign some top-class, big-time names players in the summer, with a striker on the list
Martinez has been in a rich vein of form this season, scoring 16 goals in all competitions and drawing interest from top European clubs, with reports Barcelona have identified Martinez and Neymar as their top priority summer signings, but with over three years remaining on the 22-year-old’s current deal at Inter, the Serie A outfit can demand an astronomical fee for his services.
But ahead of the summer transfer window, Moratti has come out and admitted that the striker will be allowed to leave the club in the summer window if he pushes for a move away from the Italian giants
“You can’t hold someone who has the idea of being somewhere else,” Moratti told Sportmediaset. “That would put him in a position to remain involuntarily or, in any case with a different impulse, in the same place.”
Look, We have said all along that Martinez is a striker that is destined to become the best in the game and even though he would cost around £97 million to acquire in the transfer window, he would be worth that money. But Chelsea will be in a battle to secure a deal as there are a number of clubs that are reportedly keen to land the striker.
