Cole Palmer reacts as Hazard confirms return to Stamford Bridge

Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole has expressed his excitement at playing against former Blues winger Eden Hazard in the annual Soccer Aid charity game.

This comes as Hazard confirmed he would be participating in the Soccer Aid game, scheduled to take place at Stamford Bridge on June 9.

Since 2006, the Soccer Aid charity match has taken place in the UK annually to raise money for UNICEF.

Since his retirement from football last summer, the Belgian star has enjoyed his time playing in multiple charity matches and has now signed up for Soccer Aid.

Hazard will play for the World XI team, which will be managed by current Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The former winger shared the news of his return to Stamford Bridge for the first time since his retirement in a video on Instagram.

Reacting, Cole, who will play for England XI against Hazard in the game, wrote on Instagram:

“And here I was thinking I’d be the only and best former Chelsea and Lille player taking part…can’t wait, bro. A shame it’s on opposite teams.”
